First Baptist seeks to nurture the spiritual and emotional growth of its children, preschoolers, and their families through a variety of weekly opportunities for learning, worship, missions, service and special programs throughout the year. We want to work together with families to help children know Jesus and live by God’s example in their daily lives.
“Train up a child in the way he/she should go, and when he/she is old he/she will not turn from it.” -Proverbs 22:6
Sunday School – 9:45 AM
A formative time for kids filled with activities, Bible study, prayer, etc.
Morning Worship – 11:00 AM
The regular morning worship service. At First Baptist, we believe that children are a part of the Body of Christ, and as such they are welcome and encouraged to attend our worship service. Teaching kids to worship (rather than just sit still and “behave”) is hard work. Each Sunday, we remember Jesus’ words:
“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:14.
Sunday Night Activities for Children (“SNAC”) – 5:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
On Sunday nights, the children meet for a time of games/activities (5:30-6:00), dinner (6:00-6:30), and then a Bible study lesson (6:30-7:15). We believe that our responsibility as a church community is to foster a healthy and safe space for children to learn more about God, his Church, and our place in the world. Sunday nights are a time when we explore these truths.
The children gather at 6:00 on Wednesdays for an evening of games, hands-on learning activities, missions, and Bible study.
